Enabling Multiple Remote Desktop Sessions in Windows XP Professional and Media Center Edition 2005

1. Print these directions so that you have them to work from.
2. Restart your computer in Safe Mode – Follow this link to learn how to restart Windows XP in Safe Mode
3. Turn off/disable Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) and Terminal Services
1. Right click My Computer
2. Select Properties
3. Click on the Remote tab at the top of the window
4. UNCHECK the box next to, “Allow users to connect remotely to this computer“
5. Click OK
6. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services
7. Find Terminal Services in the list
8. Right click on Terminal Services and click Properties
9. In the Startup Type box, select Disabled
10. Click OK to close the window
• Next you will replace the current version of the Terminal Services DLL (termsrv.dll) with an unrestricted version from a previous release of Terminal Services.
1. Here is a copy of the Terminal Services DLL – Save it to your Desktop or other suitable location
2. Using a file manager like Windows Explorer open C:\Windows\system32\dllcache
3. Rename the file termsrv.dll to termsrv_dll.bak or whatever you would like.
4. Copy the downloaded termsrv.dll file (the one you just downloaded from the web) to C:\Windows\system32\dllcache
5. Open the C:\Windows\system32 folder
6. Delete the file termsrv.dll in C:\Windows\system32
• Now we can edit the Windows Registry to enable more than one RDP connection. Go to Start -> Run and type regedit – Hopefully you knew that already
• Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\Licensing Core
• Add a DWORD Key named EnableConcurrentSessions and give it a value of 1
• Close the Registry Editor window
• Go to Start -> Run and type gpedit.msc to run the Group Policy Editor
• Browse to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Terminal Services and double click Limit number of connections
• Select the Enabled button and enter the number of connections you would like to enable….at least 2.
• Restart Windows
• Right click My Computer and select Properties.
• Click on the Remote tab at the top of the window
• CHECK the box next to, “Allow users to connect remotely to this computer“
• Click OK
• Go to Start -> Control Panel ->Administrative Tools -> Services. Select Terminal Services from the list and double click it or right-click -> Properties. Set the Startup Type to Manual.
• • Restart Windows/Computer
You should be good to go.

Install Ulang Office tanpa Aktivasi

Sebelumnya, PCplus pernah membahas cara untuk mengakali Windows Product Activation untuk Windows. Dengan mengikuti langkah-langkah yang telah diberikan, Anda tidak perlu lagi melakukan aktivasi Windows meskipun Anda meng-install ulang Windows.

Nah, setelah meng-install ulang Windows, tentunya Anda perlu melakukan install ulang aplikasi-aplikasi lain yang dibutuhkan. Proses install ulang tidak akan menyusahkan apabila aplikasi yang Anda install ulang adalah aplikasi-aplikasi standar. Yang akan menjadi masalah adalah ketika Anda meng-install ulang aplikasi lain yang mengharuskan aktivasi seperti yang harus dilakukan ketika meng-install Windows.

Salah satu aplikasi yang akan meminta aktivasi saat Anda melakukan install ulang adalah Microsoft Office. Seperti pada Windows, Anda juga bisa mengakali Office agar aktivasi ulang tidak perlu dilakukan. Secara garis besarnya langkah-langkah yang diperlukan juga sama, yaitu dengan melakukan back-up data aktivasi dan me-restore-nya seusai proses install ulang Windows dan Office. Perbedaannya terletak pada lokasi dan file yang harus di back-up. Untuk lebih jelasnya, ikuti langkah-langkah berikut sebelum Anda meng-install ulang Windows:

1. Jalankan Windows Explorer melalui menu [Start] > [All Programs] > [Accessories] > [Windows Explorer].
2. Buat sebuah folder baru untuk menyimpan file backup. Jika Anda ingin melakukan backup di disket, masukkan disket Anda ke disk drive.
3. Masuklah ke folder C:-Documents and Settings-All Users-Application Data-Microsoft-Office-Data-.
4. Pada folder Data akan muncul dua file dengan nama data.dat dan data.bak. Salinlah kedua file ini ke folder yang baru Anda buat atau ke disket yang telah disiapkan.

Setelah tahapan-tahapan diatas dilakukan, Anda dapat meng-install ulang Windows dan dilanjutkan dengan instalasi Office. Di akhir instalasi Office, Anda akan diminta untuk melakukan restart Windows. Sampai di sini Anda masih belum boleh menjalankan aplikasi-aplikasi Office karena Anda belum me-restore file aktivasi.

Maka dari itu, ikuti permintaan restart dari program installer. Selanjutnya:
5. Jalankan Safe Mode Windows.
6. Masuklah ke folder tempat Anda mem-back-up kedua file diatas, kemudian salin kembali ke folder C:-Documents and Settings-All Users-Application Data-Microsoft-Office-Data-.
7. Saat muncul konfirmasi untuk melakukan overwrite, jawab dengan [Yes]. 8. Terakhir, restart PC dan aplikasi-aplikasi Office Anda tidak akan meminta aktivasi untuk yang kedua kalinya.

Harap diingat, trik ini bukan untuk melakukan crack terhadap aktivasi Office, melainkan untuk mengakali Office agar Anda tidak perlu dilakukan aktivasi ulang. Jadi, Anda tidak dapat menggunakan trik ini apabila sebelumnya tidak pernah melakukan aktivasi.

Dream Theater

Dream Theater..group band asal America yang mengusung “aliran” Rock Progressive yang berdiri pada tahun 1985 dengan nama ‘Majesty’. Awal kali Majesty di gawangi oleh John Myung,  John Petrucci dan Mike Portnoy. Hingga mereka (John Myung,  John Petrucci dan Mike Portnoy) bertemu dengan James LaBrie (Vocal) dan juga Derek Sherninian (Keyboardis).

Setelah sekian lama mereka mengganti nama Majesty dengan Dream Theater (1987).  Dream Theater menjadi sangat terkenal dengan mengeluarkan banyak hits diantaranya Pull me under, Another day dan banyak lagi..
Pada awal tahun 1994 terjadi perubahan formasi pada DT, sang keyboardis Derek Sherninian di gantikan posisinya oleh jordan Rudess hingga sekarang.

Virus ‘Conficker.DV’

Virus ‘Conficker.DV’ menggunakan metode penyebaran yang berbeda dari pendahulunya. Dengan canggihnya, virus tersebut berusaha mengakses jaringan menggunakan celah windows ‘Default Share’ (ADMIN$\system32) dengan menebak password administrator.

Selain itu ‘Conficker.DV’ juga membuat file pada media removable seperti flashdisk, harddisk dan card reader dengan menyimpan file hidden pada root drive.

Sementara aksi yang sama seperti pendahulunya, yaitu berusaha mengexploitasi MS08-067 atau celah keamanan Windows, Windows Server Service atau SVCHOST.exe. Banyak user yang terinfeksi dikarenakan tidak mengaktifkan fitur Automatic Updates dan tidak melakukan patch windows MS08-067.

Jika sudah begini, simak 7 langkah singkat analis virus dari Vaksincom Adi Saputra untuk membasmi virus ‘Conficker.DV’ :

1. Putuskan komputer yang akan dibersihkan dari jaringan/internet.
2. Matikan system restore (Windows XP/Vista).
3. Matikan proses virus yang aktif pada services. Gunakan removal tool dari Norman untuk membersihkan virus yang aktif. Jika belum memiliki, bisa didownload di situs norman.
4. Delete service svchost.exe gadungan yang ditanamkan virus pada registry. Anda dapat mencari secara manual pada registry.
5. Hapus Schedule Task yang dibuat oleh virus. (C:\WINDOWS\Tasks)
6. Hapus string registry yang dibuat oleh virus. Untuk mempermudah dapat menggunakan script registry di bawah ini:

Gunakan notepad, kemudian simpan dengan nama ‘repair.inf’, lalu ‘Save As Type’ menjadi ‘All Files’ agar tidak terjadi kesalahan. Jalankan repair.inf dengan klik kanan, kemudian pilih install.

Sementara untuk file yang aktif pada startup, Anda dapat mendisable melalui ‘msconfig’ atau dapat mendelete secara manual pada string: ‘HKLM, SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run’

7. Untuk pembersihan virus W32/Conficker.DV secara optimal dan mencegah infeksi ulang, sebaiknya menggunakan antivirus yang terupdate dan mampu mendeteksi virus ini dengan baik dan patch komputer Anda dengan patch resmi dari Microsoft guna mencegah infeksi ulang.
